Domain masking is the ultimate companion to domain forwarding, and an indispensable tool for resellers and members of affiliate programs.

Domain masking literally allows you to hide the destination address of a particular site to which you've forwarded your visitors, so they never know they're on a site that's other than yours!

The browser bar will show only the website name they typed in (or arrived at by link), and won't show them the name of the actual site on which they're browsing.

This service is critical for resellers of affiliate programs because you can forward customers to the reseller site and mask the actual link. They won't see your affiliate information or affiliate number embedded! This is critical to project a professional image, and to keep customers from discarding your affiliate link - losing you the commissions!

How it's done: First, you register a domain name. In this example it's domain1.com. You register this domain just for the address - it won't have its own website. It will only display the content of another website. In this case, you've decided to display the content of a site called: forwarded-to.com.

Your visitors will type in (or click on a link to) your domain at domain1.com and they will then see the actual page from the forwarded-to.com web site. But they do not see the forwarded-to.com domain name address in their browser's address bar.   They see only the address you want them to see -- your domain: domain1.com.

You can also control the Meta Tags which are read by search engines, so that your new website can be found, ranked, and cataloged under the keywords and description you desire.
